A restaurant review by southerncaliforniadiningservicesfun.com

Foothill Blvd. used to be the main drag Rancho Cucamonga and Upland before the freeways were built. This is where you can shop and dine with the numerous stores and restaurants that lines the boulevard.

The Magic Lamp Inn is one of these restaurants where they serve steaks and cocktails since 1955. The restaurant offers chicken and pasta dishes but they are well known for their prime rib steaks. I have been to this place a few times and the steak is always perfect and prepared as I like it – medium well. The food is reasonably priced and comes in big portions.

The area where The Magic Lamp Inn is located is dubbed “Rancho Cucamonga Square” where The Sycamore Inn (another steak house) is located so with Vince’s Spaghetti and Sushi House for Japanese food.

The ambiance is that of a typical steak house; not your typical restaurant where you dine every weekend. There is a lot of dark wood and chairs are upholstered in leather, dining tables have white table clothes, table napkins are cloth napkins as well. There are days when there’s a live band where they play Jazz, Disco, Latin, Country, Swing and Pop music.

The restaurant has no dress code but business casual is recommended. Also a reservation is recommended if you want to be seated immediately. The clientele tend to be older and all dressed up; you rarely see teenagers or screaming kids.

They are located at 8189 Foothill Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga, CA and their website is www.themagiclampinn.com.
