Osteria Drago is a restaurant in Sunset Strip in West Hollywood offering classic Italian cuisine.

The restaurant is decorated with imported Italian interiors with the walls painted with mostly white colors. The ceiling is clad with copper ceiling tiles. The interior is a perfect balance of casual luxury.

We went to Osteria Drago on a Sunday night for a birthday celebration. There was no crowd so we had a good dining experience.

We started with appetizer; several Italian cheeses, slices of fruits, a fruit preserve, and some Italian cured meats. The appetizer came with slices of bread and serve on a slab of slate tile. The appetizer is good with the combination of the flavors really thought out.

The salad is a mix of baby lettuces and shaved vegetables. It had some dressing but it is almost non-existent which made the salad really dry.

For my entrée, I had the orecchiette which is a pasta dish with pork sausage, rapini, and pecorino. Macaroni shell is used as the pasta. The pasta dish is well seasoned and savory but the pork is quite rich. The pasta is al dente. Portion size is perfect, it is not small and not very big either just enough.

Overall it was a great dining experience, everything is well thought out.  Service from the staff is also excellent. Good food, good service and good ambiance.
