Rae.G Café is a three restaurant chain offering sandwiches, wraps, salads, organic coffee, organic tea and lattes. It is your basic cafe with soups, salads, sandwiches and a pretty extensive coffee & tea menu. I like their sandwich and salad combo for lunch. It’s a pretty generous portion and fair price. We all know how difficult it is to find fresh, quality food in Vernon

I was in Vernon on business and decided to try them. I used to work near them but I have never tried them. Vernon is a small “city” east of downtown Los Angeles. The city is home to manufacturing plants, there really are no residents other than manufacturing plants and warehouses. There are not many places to eat in Vernon so but this by far is the best sandwich shop around.

Rae.G is located besides Farmer John’s, a manufacturing plant for anything related to pork. Depending where the wind is blowing, the café can be a little bit smelling of slaughterhouse.

They have sandwiches and coffee; nothing amazing, but the food is solid and they deliver. I had a half sandwich of the Honey ham Sandwich which came with toasted ciabatta bread, honey ham, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and mustard. The bread is really good but overall the sandwich is alright, nothing great.

Also ordered small coffee and warm Triple Chocolate Brownie. The coffee is one of the best coffees I have ever tasted, Starbucks cannot come close. The brownie is also very good, dense and not overly sweet.

The only downside to this location is that it’s across the street from the slaughterhouse which is one of the worst things you have ever smelled in your life. The service can also be improved. I was there at 4:00 PM and they close at 4:30 PM; and they close on time. They did not ask me to leave but you can tell they want me to leave before 4:30 PM.

Their other locations are in Brea and Torrance and they have no website.
